An invite to Stockport County

We were invited to Stockport County FC by Steve Bellis who is President of the club, got a tour of Edgeley Park and met the players in the changing room was treated to a fantastic pre match dinner., efore talking to local business men in the 1889 club about England Deaf Futsal and possible sponsorship.

Great seats for the match where Stockport won against Doncaster Rovers moving them up to a second in Division 2.

Then at halftime was announced to the crowd and taken on the pitch to be applauded by over 9500 people amazing experience.

The Day was finished off by Byron guessing the correct minute of the winning goal which earned him a bottle of Champagne which we donated back to The President, as a token of our appreciation for a fantastic day out.

We are affiliated with Stockport County and they are the only professional team trying to help us and we send out a massive thanks to the players staff and supporters and all the back ground staff involved.

England V Luso Cymru Futal Club

Match Report

England deaf futsal had a further opportunity to apply their learning and keep the on court rhythm as they faced a strong Welsh side - Luso Cymru.

The deaf lions had started the game well by following the messages from the staff appropriately. Therefore, managed to control the game tempo and possession during the first 10 minutes, England had created lots of chances but could not convert in front of goal. The team were then punished for the complacency in the final third as Luso broke the deadlock with 5 minutes of the first half to go in front of goal from a lapse in concentration from the Lions.

However, 1 minute later, the Lions equalised through a well worked passing combination which fell to Byron around the backpost area as he slotted it away. Shortly after, England scored another as the goalkeeper - Tommy - made the most of his time on the ball to find Rhyan between the lines who dealt with the pass perfectly and slotted the ball away on a 1 touch finish, ending the half 2-1 up.

The first minute of the second half was a wake up call for the Lions as they conceded from the first minute to make it 2-2. England fought back through the quality of Adam and Jamie who both respectively scored the last few goals for the England Deaf Lions to finish to match 6-4. The last 15 minutes of the game saw England keep up with their practice of patterns of play and combinations completed over the course of the previous camps which help prepare the team for the upcoming World Cup away in Brazil

Marcos and his Deaf Lions can be content with the collective progress made against a strong and physical team. Improving in the right direction.

England V Derby Futal Club
Match Report

England Deaf Futsal travelled to Derby on their second World Cup match preparation, to face current Tier 2 champion and newly promoted Tier 1 (Highest futsal division in the country) Derby Futsal Club.

Leon's side started slow and had several minutes were they could not establish the game.

Gradually they started to apply an improvement and took a few goals to finish first half 6-3.

At half time our Deaf Lions were spoken to increase the intensity, how to overcome the challenges shown and encourage players to be proactive.

Second half it was a completely different history. The team were excellent and showed a great futsal display. We took control of the game and created scoring opportunities throughout to make it 7-6. Last few minutes, Leon's side took fly keeper and despite they had a chance to equalise, Derby managed to pull one goal seconds before the final whistle. Final result 8-6.
